Physical therapy combines treatment, such as ultra sound and electrical current to help heal an injury, along with strengthening and stretching to rebuild strength.
What's the difference between physical therapy and physio therapy?
Physical therapy is more treatment based, leading to stretching, strengthening and rehabilitating the injury. The patient is given exercises and at home protocols to follow, as part of the treatment plan.
Physio therapy is more focused on the rehab part and a physiotherapist actually sits there and helps you get your exercises done.
Both forms of treatment are effective in different ways, and for different circumstances.
